Apartment Ready, Jobs on the Way!

We went in today and reserved our apartment. It is a 2b1b at the Mansions gated community. It is so cute! We plan on putting a fountain in the living room for fish so Shadow and Gremlin can't knock it over, crown molding in the living room and maybe bedroom to put pictures and paintings on, and a chandelier in the bathroom over my garden tub with whirlpool jets! The apartment comes with stainless steel appliances, real marble counters and hardwood floors in the foyer, living and dining room areas. The bath is a garden tub with jets and there is a separate shower stall. It also has an attached 1 car garage. We can't wait to move in! There is a creek with shad fish in our backyard! I'll take pics sometime when we are moved in and settled. I think the only thing it doesn't have that I would want is a fireplace, but this one might...I don't know yet.

Oh and as for the jobs on the way...I should start mine at the daycare next week and DH has the oral board for his tomorrow morning. After that is it a polygraph, physical and psychological screening and drug test...all of which he will pass and then he will start as a 911 dispatcher. Things are going well! Keeping our fingers crossed that it stays that way. :0P

Opps Forgot...

...We're Married!

I completely forgot to add that in all the hustle and bustle of moving. We were technically married on 8/8/08 but we didn't have the real ceremony and wedding until August 30th with our family and friends. We just had to say all our yes' and no's for the judge on the 8th since the license was issued in a different county than were we planned on marrying. Oh well. 8/8/08 is supposed to be the most prosperous day of the century. So yep, I am now a Mrs!

We've Moved!

Well the Mr. and I are in McKinney, Texas now! (It's NE of Dallas.) We are staying with family and doing well. It was a little stressful for me to begin with but after I explained how I felt to DH he understood and has been very supporting. I've never been so far away from my parents before and I am in a new town with in-laws I have only met a couple times before (not his parents :P) I am in the final stages of a job interview (talked to 2 supervisors so far and have one more) for Life Time Fitness in their childcare center. I have to memorize their Mission, Vision and Child Care Department Mission first. I have pretty much got it down and now I am waiting for my background check to come back so I can talk to the final Department lead and start working. I have to take 4 classes within my first 90 days and I am very excited about them all. They are CPR/1st Aid (of course), a sexual harassment class because it's a large corporation, a life fit class to discuss eating habits, working out and how to cater to each body type and a class on the history and future of Life Time Fitness. It should be fun. Plus I get a free membership and my spouse gets one for $40 a month. Right now we are paying $120 a month for the both of us. They have everything you can think of for a gym but you can go to LifetimeFitness.com to check it out. We have also found a couple apartment homes we are interested in so far but are having trouble deciding which one we want. The thing around here is the luxury apartment homes with garages, split shower/bath, open walk thru kitchens and full sized washer and dryers in units. The communities boast fitness rooms, suanas, tanning beds (free unlimited use), pools (the luxury kinds with natural rock waterfalls and whatnot) and pool houses with games, kitchens, and Star bucks coffee for free! One we are looking at is www.MansionsAtStonebridge.com and their 2b2b is only $800-$900. (Compared to the $1400 of other places around.) The price of big city living. :P But it isn't bad. We make more here than in San Angelo too so it works out. That's about it for now. More to come soon I hope.
