We've decided it's time I put our money where our hearts are and stop spending on the house. As much as I'd like our home to look like a picture perfect magazine house {when guests come over that is...}, it obviously isn't my top priority. If it were, I'd have gotten it in shape already. No, I think it is time that we invest in something more important that our home's appearance, our own. DH and I have decided that we'll be saving money each month to allow him a one hour, full body massage and a pedicure with leg and foot massage for myself.
I've always been against eating out, buying flowers, and getting spa treatments for myself because they seem so wasteful. You spend all that money on something that lasts less than an hour in most cases and then you have nothing to show for it. Now that I am older, have a household to run, and the stress of a new baby on my mind and heart, I have come to decide... I'll just take photos! It might only take an hour to have my nails or hair done, but the refreshing feeling and sense of confidence in myself afterward will be well worth it. And, I'll just take photos each month so I can look back on all my fun pedicures and not feel as though they were a waste of money. {I'm thinking I might do some fun colors and designs seeing as how it'll be winter and no one will see my toes anyways. My first will be a classic french pedicure though. I love that natural look! Plus, it's not too cold for flip flops and open toed heels just yet...}
