I swear...
It's official... we're an Army family now!
One Last Picture before the beard goes away.
Yarr... I had to snap one mid beard cut. It looked too awesome!
Heading off to Basic...
The first time I watched him walk down that plane ramp. I did okay until it taxied out.
Then I sobbed like a baby.
Driving home from Arizona
We packed that car to the brim... it was not a comfy 13 hour drive let me tell you...
Before he left for Alaska we decided to find out Little Bit's sex since DH was missing the majority of this pregnancy. Here is our first look at our son!
Packing for his first duty station!
Loading up the car...
One last picture of us before he leaves again.
Off to the airport. We were early so we went to go visit the Vietnam Memorial.
I cried in the car out of immense pride.
Put him on the plane for a second time. This one was better.
I still cried though. It might have been because I was pregnant and had NO IDEA when I would see him again. It ended up being about 6 months before I was cleared to move to Alaska.
(He left from BCT to AIT via bus and I didn't even get to say goodbye.)
While he was gone I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. I ate our wedding cake {one year later} by myself. It was pretty good and at least I could talk to him on the phone while I celebrated alone. He took me out to dinner and danced with me in the romantic, Italian restaurant when I arrived later that month.
I also went to my baby shower alone. Of course many wives do...but I had to wait several months to share my experience with him instead of going home to tell him all about it. Here is me talking on the phone to him just before the festivities began.
Alaska -
Finally! I made it to Alaska! Six months of Army bull honky, deciding to finally just pay my own way lest I be stuck in Texas {not that that's a bad thing} without my husband {now that is bad...} when I was due to deliver, and a 15 hour plane trip with 2 stops and a cat in cabin later... {Did I mention I was 8 months pregnant?}
Noon day sun in December.
Snow crystals... aren't they cool looking?!
Silly Texan wearing flip flops when the ground was frozen over... hey! I was pregnant... it was hot!
Shadow's first encounter with snow...
Yep, that's a cat on a leash. He walks on it {when he feels like it...} He actually loves walking through the pet store on it to show off. About half way through our visit though he decides it is nap time.
My preggers self in the snow! And DH too.
Almost due... we were in a hotel for 2 months before our house was available.
We finally got into our house and a few weeks later baby was here... HHG arrived a week before Little Bit.
Our neighborhood dogs. We call the big one "Bear". Just so you know... the middle dog comes up to my hip almost. The Bear is nearly as tall as my bust! He is such a sweetie though.
This is what happens to glasses in the cold...
Serving Christmas Eve gumbo to my parents and DH. You can see more Christmas pics on Little Bits' page.
How NOT to drive in the snow... I saw this on my way to pick DH up from work.
Moose tracks!Snow crystals... aren't they cool looking?!

Missouri -
DH at BCT - The day he arrived {He's the tallest one to the right of the picture}, on a Ruck March {he was honored to be a guard on - that's a flag holder}, and Throwing a grenade {yes, a real one folks, and I was informed that he has perfect form... go Hubby!}
Basic Graduation! I was sooo nervous to see my hubby again. My dad went with me so I didn't have to be alone in a strange state. He also did all the driving which was nice because I was a complete wreck! Look! I was this close {---} to Chicago! How cool!
Silly me didn't have a camera when I got to see him for the first time but I brought it to the actual graduation. Most of my pictures came out dark or blurry because my point and click does not like auditoriums. Here we are in the museum. I would suggest you go if you are ever at Ft. Leonard Wood. It is really awesome and FUN!
Here we are at lunch with my dad and his family.
And our "Fat Stanley" {my hippo playing a flat Stanley} posing in our hotel suite. I upgraded us to the jacuzzi. I took a warm bath in it the night before to calm myself. It was a nice little treat but I didn't really calm down much. lol Oh and yes, he has a towel on his head. He was at the spa!
Arizona -
Mmmm Battle Rattle! He hated it because his weighs close to 40lbs, but I thought it was SEXY!
Hanging out at my apartment while on pass. That, my friends, is a real smile. It doesn't happen much with my hubby... although since the little one was born it's been happening much more often.
Guess what happened the weekend I arrived?! The Dr. told me it would take 6 months. My hubby and God had another thing in mind. We weren't sure I could get pregnant because of my surgery so of course we were overjoyed at the pleasant surprise!
Can you tell I'm pregnant?
Not really? Well how about now?!
DH carried this around with him EVERYWHERE and told EVERYONE!!! The day he told his platoon I got about 50 Hooah!s as they streamed into the cafeteria. I was blushing quite a bit.
Practicing with our cat. Shadow thought that was his papoose after that...
We got a 4 day pass for the 4th of July so we went to Tombstone! It was sooo much fun!!!
Here is Fat Stanley on Toughnut street. We had a debate as to the origin of that name. Was is a tough side of town with all the shootings... or was it where the ladies of the night hung out? We don't know.
I love how this picture turned out. We got to see several shows. It was pretty cool.
Panning for gold... we didn't find any, but we got some pretty gems. I like how this one turned out too. It had just stormed so the sun was just right.
Tombstone through a peep hole. Cool looking huh?
And of course, 4th of July fireworks! They were so pretty but my stupid point and click didn't do them justice. This is the best of the lot.
I went around town snapping pictures of the scenery and of Fat Stanley a couple days before we left for home. The monsoons make for some beautiful rainbows!
